Originally known as Masjid Agung Batam, it was officially renamed after undergoing extensive revitalization and re-opened to the public in September 2024. The mosque stands on a large site and features modern architectural elements that blend contemporary design with influences from traditional Malay-Islamic style. It can accommodate around 10,000 worshippers, making it one of the largest mosques in Batam and a prominent place of worship for the local Muslim community.
